Today, 02:17 AMSticky created an article Factory M178 turbo Mercedes-AMG GT with HPT (Horse Power Technics) Stage 2+ race gas tune running 5.40 100-200 kph and 6.30 60-130 mph sprints in Mercedes-AMG Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsVery impressive GPS tested acceleration results for this C190 Mercedes-AMG GT on the factory M178 4.0 liter twin turbochargers. This is strong bolt on performance and HPT (Horse Power Technics) looks to have one one of the quickest factory turbo AMG GT's out there. Mods: - Pre Catalytic removed - Air Filters - BOV Adapters - HPT custom tune - Aral 102 octane fuel This is a race gas tune but in theory it could be replicated on ethanol to make it more daily driver friendly. Very impressive bolt on with race gas results.0 replies | 85 view(s)

Today, 12:28 AMSticky created an article Cobb Tuning joins in on Porsche 991.2 9A2B6 3.0 Siemens SDI21 ECU OBD-II port unlocking - Accessport flashing without physical ECU unlock in Porsche Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsPorscheBoost speculated with APR's announcement of cracking Siemens SDI 21.X OBD-II port flashing without needing a physical unlock first that we would see handheld ECU unlock solutions pop up. Right on cue Cobb Tuning announced this ability for the Accessport. It was just a matter of time before this crack spread and every competitor scrambled and or is scrambling to get it for themselves. Cobb is not providing a definitive date but stating you soon will be able to unlock your ECU on your own: The Accessport offers several interesting features so those who already have tunes from another company may still be interested as apparently PDK TCU (transmission control unit) tuning is coming among other things. The tuning competition on the platform is starting (finally) to really heat up.0 replies | 133 view(s)

Today, 12:07 AMSticky created an article Roll race between hybrid turbo upgraded B58 and bolt on 5.2 NA V10 - F21 M140i vs. Huracan Performante in BMW Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsTo be fair the Lamborghini Huracan Performante is not a car for drag racing or straightline racing. It is designed competition to destroy racetracks. That is not to say it is not fast as it is and the example in the video is bolt on tuned with roughly ~650 naturally aspirated horses. As we have learned over the years, tuning forced induction versus natural aspiration is not exactly apples to apples. The M140i that races it from a roll is a strong little BMW with a Pure Turbos hybrid B58 upgrade. Weight is stripped out and it also features water-meth injection. The full mods are not posted but it traps over 123 in the 1/4 mile and hits 100-200 kph in 5.89 seconds. The M140i jumps but the Huracan can not run it down. In other words, a hybrid upgraded B58 can compete with bolt on Huracans or R8's for that matter.0 replies | 123 view(s)

Today, 12:02 AMSticky started a thread Roll race between hybrid turbo upgraded B58 and bolt on 5.2 NA V10 - F21 M140i vs. Huracan Performante in Race Videos / Kill Stories / VS.To be fair the Lamborghini Huracan Performante is not a car for drag racing or straightline racing. Yesterday, 10:52 PMSticky created an article Klasen Motors dyno testing their C7 RS6 Garrett G42-1200 4.0 TFSI V8 single turbo conversion - 1200+ horsepower in Audi Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsAudiBoost posted a few articles on this single turbo kit it from Klasen Motors for the first gen Audi 4.0 TFSI V8 but unfortunately there is not too much in the form of data or results to go on. This new video below from Klasen offers the most data about this kit to date. Unfortunately, we do not speak German but dynographs are universal. It looks like they were trying several boost levels out until eventually hitting 887 horsepower to all four wheels before backing out of the run: Klasen previously claimed 1000+ horsepower but AudiBoost is not sure if that claim is wheel horsepower or crank horsepower. They never responded to inquiries regarding a high resolution graph to prove it one way or the other. As the video goes on Klasen seems to talk about a 50/50 methanol mix and boost settings. Boost hits 2.59 bar or 37.56 psi and they post 1008 horsepower to the wheels although the run is not made all the way through to the redline: Corrected that would be 1191 horses at the crank. Impressive? You bet. The questions are how much does this kit cost? What is done to the transmission? How is it fueled? We should start seeing more and more 1000+ wheel horsepower 4.0 TFSI's and the cars with the 4.0 TFSI V8 are becoming quite the bargain.0 replies | 130 view(s)

Yesterday, 10:21 PMSticky created an article McLaren introduces the even more hardcore 620R track special in McLaren Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsIs the 600LT just a bit too soft and comfortable for you with its stereo and air conditioning? Do you desire a car offering more downforce and adjustability in its suspension? Well, the 620R may just be for you. It seems a bit redundant to us and at 1282 kilograms dry it is not any lighter than the 600LT even if you keep the deleted carpets, air conditioning, and navigation system. You can option those items back in and get a lightweight stereo if you like. You can also opt for a titanium exhaust and roof scoop which if you truly are a hardcore track junky you will want. Don't forget the Pirelli slicks either if the standard Trofeo R's are just not good enough. Tuning is slightly more aggressive with 612 bhp standard so think of this as a track prepped 570 ready to go out of the box. Only 350 will be made so put your order in now.0 replies | 50 view(s)

Yesterday, 09:54 PMSticky created an article APTuning Audi EA855 2.5 TFSI before and after APR intake and inlet system dyno test on tuned 8V RS3 in Audi Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsHere is a simple test showing just how restrictive the OEM intake design is on the Audi EA855 EVO/DAZA 2.5 TFSI motors. This is a tuned exampled which means the factory intake becomes an even larger restriction when more is fed into the motor. APTuning tested the car with the tune and factory intake then the APR intake/inlet system on a Dynojet: Notice the area under the curve picked up past 5000 rpm? The difference by redline is almost 40 wheel horsepower. At this point there is plenty of data showing the OEM intake design as a large restriction on the 2.5 TFSI.1 replies | 141 view(s)

Yesterday, 09:41 PMSticky created an article Crappy magazine test numbers for the 2020 Ford Shelby Cobra GT500 - 0-60 3.4, 1/4 mile 11.4@132 in Ford Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsThis is yet another example of magazines not doing a great job. Some random guy managed to run the GT500 in stock form and hit 10.66 @ 132.9 in the 1/4 mile. Not only that, he provided an actual timeslip from an actual dragstrip. Car and Driver does not do that. They instead use a Vbox and did not even bother to produce the full Vbox figures: If some random guy on Youtube is crushing professional test figures maybe you are doing it wrong Car and Driver? Also, maybe your conclusion is off: Um, it is not as quick in Car and Driver's hands but the issue is traction and not the 0-60 test. Not only can it be as quick as the ZL1, it can be quicker. Why Car and Driver did not try out a prepped drag strip or maybe try some different rubber rather than going with with the clickbait headline it can not match the ZL1 is anyone's guess. Actually, we all know exactly why they went with that headline.0 replies | 54 view(s)

Yesterday, 09:26 PMSticky created an article Eurocharged Canada N63TU2 4.4 TT V8 G30 M550i xDrive tuning results - 508 awhp, 623 awtq in BMW Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsThe N63 always gets overshadowed by the S63 big brother but as BMW updated the N63 4.4 liter v8 over the years it gained considerable capability. The N63TU2 (N66B44M3) is the second technical update to the N63 architecture and it sees use in the 2017-2019 BMW G30 M550i xDrive. Eurocharged Canada got a hold of one to custom dyno tune and provided a before and after overlay. In stock form it is fairly strong but clearly is tuned for torque down low. Factory horsepower is 421 at the wheels and the factory torque figure is an impressive and underrated 493 lb-ft: After the tune that torque figure tops 600 lb-ft at the wheels with peak torque coming in at 623 lb-ft. The top end of the power curve is also much cleaner holding over 500 horsepower at the wheels until redline. A huge improvement over the factory software and keep in mind the 2020 on M550i features the N63TU3 motor which shows even stronger numbers.0 replies | 127 view(s)
